The present tense becomes a thing of the past at every second, but the time of human life, philosophically speaking, remains the present, living through us until the very end. This collage of music and dance is a map of contemporary Lithuanian music and dance, revealing the time experiences of five composers and five choreographers in relation to the present.
Last year was especially successful for Lithuanian female artists, who were recognized as the best worldwide in the art category they represented. It was their success that inspired the idea of bringing together the artists of contemporary music and dance in a single project that presents their work to a wider audience. The mood of the project is complemented by two men, a composer and a choreographer, who work and create for women, in this way dissolving traditional gender stereotypes.
The collage consists of the most relevant works of contemporary music and dance artists, and includes music by such stylistically different composers as Raminta Šerkšnytė, Žibuoklė Martinaitytė, Justina Repečkaitė, Loreta Narvilaitė and Vidmantas Bartulis. Choreographers of various generations and dance schools, Lora Juodkaitė, Oksana Griaznova, Aira Naginevičiūtė, Aušra Krasauskaitė, Agnija Šeiko and Lukas Karvelis created beautiful and interesting mini dance performances for the music of the above-mentioned composers.
This project is a co-production with Klaipėda Concert Hall.
